The Toussaint Ohana -The Sellers

Jerry and Duane had this to share about their experience of the Stice Team listing and selling their condo:

We met with the Stice Team after our previous listing with a different brokerage firm expired – being on the market over a year. We were impressed with the refreshing and innovative nature of this father/son team, and the plan that they laid out in front of us.

There was never any doubt on exactly what they were doing. They presented us with 3 different offers and helped us negotiate the price, terms, and conditions of the strongest offer. We are extremely pleased that the Stice Team fulfilled their commitments and we are set to close escrow to an all cash buyer that our agents directly procured as subsequent to their efforts.

What it Meant For the Toussaints

Although it was very difficult for them to let go of this home that had been in their family’s hands for over 30 years – they are still able to visit Maui and stay in this unit for the next 5 years as this was part of the agreement with the buyers.

With the proceeds of this sale, the our team assisted them with a 1031 Exchange purchase and of a new home for their son in Virginia, we negotiated with the builder in Virginia to ensure the Toussaints got exactly what they wanted in the home and that as much of their tax deferred dollars as possible were wrapped up into improvements and upgrades on the home.

With the additional proceeds from the sale, Jerry and Duane are in the process of building a brand new ranch-style dream home in Omaha, NE . As was shared with us in our initial meeting with the Toussaints that this was their ultimate goal in that it allows them to have their daughter and grand-daughter all under the same roof together as family, a fine hale for the ohana as we would say :) Tracy and I couldn’t be more pleased for these people who truly understand the spirit of ohana and aloha; there is no question that they will always cary Maui heavy in their hearts and Maui will miss them in return.

The Danz Ohana – The Buyers

Upon first meeting Ron and Margie (owners of 2 other Mahana units) at one of my first open houses, I instantly knew that, besides them likely being the perfect buyers for Mahana #608, these were extremely good, family oriented people of very high integrity.

When discussing buying beachfront real estate in Maui, Jeremy and the Danz Ohana recommend that you leave your “slippahs in da sand” and let that silky Hawaiian sand run through your toes and feel the mana of the ocean tune your all senses and invigorate your soul.

I remember it being a pretty awesome experience talking to Ron, Margie, and their pregnant daughter out on Airport Beach, toes in the sand and water, about the possibility of them buying this unit, so that when their daughter gave birth they would have more room for everyone to spread out at the Mahana. Through our negotiations we were able to put together a contract that worked for both parties while solely representing the Toussaints as our seller clients and treating the Danz’s as a customer buyer.
